After the successful poetry of “Spiralling Reality in Untended Speed,” this time travel thriller, The Medici Memento, starts a new series of novels by internationally acclaimed ballet choreographer and festival director, Luc Louis de Lairesse. At the height of the AIDS crisis, Luc had initiated and directed “Dance for your Life,” hailed as the “Gala of the Century,” bringing together many of the greatest dancers of our time, in Brussels’s Royal Circus. For the first time, the Benelux governments agreed to fund new research programs inspiring a health awareness development all over Europe. In an eclectic career that covers half a century, Luc created over 500 original ballets, workshops, festivals, and galas; he taught masterclasses and has spoken out for human rights and education, starting life-changing programs by gathering performing artists, worldwide, creating large audiences while fundraising for awareness and peace, triggering international cultural events, workshops, and performances. In Tokyo and later in New York, he was a featured guest speaker at the opening of the “War and Peace” exhibition at the UN Headquarters (1989), in Brussels for the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation addressing global issues such as education, poverty and climate change which threaten human security today. Mega-Festivals to promote awareness for Children and Artist in Exile (PACT), for physical and emotional healing (‘LIVE,’ Vienna Austria) or special gala events such as the UNESCO-Dyslexia International, in Brussels) are amongst his many accomplishments. As an educator, Luc continues to raise awareness for education within all youth communities, for minority groups, including the elderly, insisting that the Fine Arts play a vital role in our society.
