Coming of Age in Yellowstone National Park is David M. Huffman’s debut as a fiction author. David spent six summers in Yellowstone while in college and law school before practicing as a family law attorney for 42 years in San Diego. His new book tells the story of Dan Johnson, a young man from a conservative Midwestern family, who works for a summer in the early 1970s as a bellman at the iconic Old Faithful Inn. From his adventures with the natural wonders and wildlife of Yellowstone to the development of friendships with co-workers (Savages) from around the United States to having to confront certain prior beliefs and practices, Dan Johnson experiences a coming of age summer in Yellowstone National Park that will truly change his life.
David is retired and lives in San Diego with his wife. In recent years, he has served as a Trustee on the Board of the Cabrillo National Monument Foundation. The Monument is San Diego County’s only National Park Service site.
