I have always been an artist. At age five I discovered ballet and at ten years old managed to play the part of Clara in the Nutcracker Suite, performed in the East Bay region of California.
I continued expressing myself through dance while developing my visual arts skills. In college I studied color and design. Learning to make jewelry was another step in the process.
Creating jewelry pieces kindled a passion for minerals and gemstones. Discovering the healing properties in the stones made sense to me since touching them on a daily basis caused me to feel so great!
At first, when I convey something through any art, it is simply a physical work, but my inherent motivation to create it always comes from a deeply spiritual place. This practice inspired me to write a story that incorporated a world of color, design and gemstones into the main character’s search for spiritual fulfillment along her life’s journey. Being able to pour my love of artistic expression into my first book 8 Stones on the Altar has been a profoundly joyful experience.
